Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves working from Monday to Friday from 4 PM until close, with a rotating schedule that may require weekend availability. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and processing prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them per procedure.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them as needed during low volume times.
  • Manually package materials and products.
  • Pull and pick medications from shelving and other storage areas.
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
  • Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that is not scanning properly.
  • Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish stock supplies as needed.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
  • Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at a moderate speed.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Possess and maintain a clear and active Ohio Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification is an advantage.

Work Environment

The role may require sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. You may need to sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day and work extended hours as needed. The role requires finger dexterity to operate office equipment and may involve lifting up to 25 pounds on occasion. The work demands visual acuity for reading fine prints, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus, along with the capability to hear normal voice sounds. The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
