Job description

Technical Program Manager Trainee
Trainee Levels: T1 / T2 / T3
Company: Service Global Inc
Employment Type: Full-time, paid W-2 position
Schedule: Normally 40 hours per week
Work Environment: Data center, low-voltage infrastructure, project site and project coordination environments
Location & Travel: National deployment to active project locations may be required
About the Role
Service Global delivers technology infrastructure services supporting data centers and enterprise environments, including low-voltage cabling, fiber infrastructure, network deployment, structured documentation, quality management, and project delivery.
The Technical Program Manager Trainee - Data Center Infrastructure position is a structured development role designed to prepare individuals to coordinate and support increasingly complex infrastructure projects.
Employees in this role begin with responsibilities appropriate to their demonstrated experience and capabilities. Through structured training, mentorship, practical project exposure, and periodic performance reviews, they may progress to increasingly complex technical coordination and program-management responsibilities.
Prior experience as a Technical Program Manager is not required.
Three-Level Trainee Structure
The Technical Program Manager Trainee program consists of three development levels:
T1 - Foundation Level
T1 is intended for individuals who demonstrate the foundational technical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills needed to develop within the program.
Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Maintaining project trackers, action logs, documentation, and status updates.
  • Supporting cable schedules, labeling records, test trackers, redline documentation, and turnover packages.
  • Assisting Project Managers and Technical Program Managers with schedule coordination and follow-ups.
  • Learning data center infrastructure standards, project workflows, quality requirements, and site procedures.
  • Participating in supervised infrastructure walkthroughs and project activities.
  • Identifying and escalating documentation gaps, material issues, access constraints, and other project blockers.
T2 - Intermediate Level
T2 is intended for individuals who demonstrate relevant prior experience or stronger proficiency in data center infrastructure, technical project coordination, project management, or related disciplines.
In addition to T1 capabilities, responsibilities may include:
  • Coordinating defined project workstreams or work packages.
  • Managing project trackers, schedules, risks, action items, and deliverables with greater independence.
  • Coordinating with field teams, vendors, material teams, documentation teams, and project leadership.
  • Supporting QA/QC activities, test readiness, punch-list management, and remediation tracking.
  • Preparing project status reports and customer-facing updates.
  • Identifying delivery risks and driving assigned issues toward resolution.
  • Supporting process improvements related to project reporting, data quality, workflow efficiency, and handoffs.
T3 - Advanced Trainee Level
T3 is intended for individuals who demonstrate substantial relevant experience or advanced capability in infrastructure delivery, project/program management, team coordination, or comparable technical environments.
In addition to T1 and T2 capabilities, responsibilities may include:
  • Owning defined project workstreams or larger work packages under the direction of project leadership.
  • Coordinating multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Monitoring schedule, SLA, quality, risk, and project-performance indicators.
  • Leading assigned project meetings, action reviews, and status reporting.
  • Supporting customer-facing project communication and escalation management.
  • Analyzing project performance and identifying corrective or preventive actions.
  • Coaching or supporting less-experienced trainees where assigned.
  • Supporting project closeout, turnover readiness, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

T3 remains a trainee/development classification and does not independently replace the responsibilities or authority of a Project Manager or Technical Program Manager unless formally assigned.
Trainee Level Assessment and Placement
Candidates will be evaluated during the recruitment and interview process to determine the trainee level-T1, T2, or T3 that most closely matches their demonstrated qualifications and experience.
Placement will be based on job-related factors that may include:
  • Prior experience working in data centers or other technology-infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with low-voltage cabling, fiber, structured cabling, network infrastructure, or related systems.
  • Previous project coordination, project management, or program-management responsibilities.
  • Experience managing schedules, trackers, risks, issues, documentation, or project deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating field teams, vendors, contractors, customers, or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Understanding of QA/QC, testing, punch lists, project closeout, or infrastructure-delivery workflows.
  • Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills demonstrated during the interview process.
  • Relevant technical knowledge, education, training, certifications, and transferable experience.

Candidates are not required to apply separately for T1, T2, or T3. Service Global will assess each candidate against consistent, job-related criteria and determine the appropriate trainee level based on the overall interview and qualification assessment.
Placement into a particular trainee level does not guarantee promotion to another level. Progression is based on demonstrated performance, competency development, business requirements, and successful completion of applicable program expectations.
