POSITION SUMMARY:
COTA's Desktop Engineer will support the COTA service desk and desktop support team with an emphasis on Intune administration and mobile device management (MDM). This position is responsible for managing endpoint devices, ensuring they are up to date with the latest patches, and providing advanced troubleshooting support as an escalation point for the service desk.
Performs duties that advance COTA's Strategic Plan and reflect the organization's core values of safety, empowerment, accountability, teamwork, and service, and support the mission of Moving Every Life Forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Intune Administration:
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Intune for device management and security compliance;
  • Configure and deploy Intune policies and applications for various devices including Windows, iOS, and Android;
  • Monitor and optimize Intune performance and usage; and,
  • Provide regular reports on Intune usage, patch compliance, and support trends.

Intune MDM (Mobile Device Management):
  • Implement and manage mobile device management strategies using Intune;
  • Ensure mobile devices are secured and compliant with company policies; and,
  • Provide support for MDM-related issues and troubleshoot as needed.

Endpoint Patching:
  • Oversee the patch management process for all endpoint user devices, ensuring they are current with the latest security patches;
  • Coordinate with other IT teams to schedule and deploy patches without disrupting business operations; and,
  • Monitor patch compliance and address any failures or issues promptly.

Windows OS Expertise:
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Windows 10 OS, including configuration, troubleshooting, and support, and,
  • Stay familiar with Windows 11, understanding the key differences and improvements to effectively support users and plan for future upgrades.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in service desk and desktop support roles. Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune administration and MDM and strong knowledge with Windows 10 OS and familiarity with Windows 11, desired. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator preferred, but not required.
