Just to make sure I show you the right thing: I gave you two Supply Chain versions earlier. The one I want to confirm is the LinkedIn paste version (human-sounding, no em dashes) I wrote out in chat.
There's also the edited Word file (Supply_Chain_Manager_JD.docx) where I fixed PTO, added the EEO line, and kept the 401k, but that one still has the original em dashes in the body since you only asked for those removed on the VP and Inside Sales & Supply Chain docs.
Here's the LinkedIn paste version (human, no em dashes):
About Source 21
Source 21 has been in the specialty metals business since 1992. We're a national distributor and processor, and we work with manufacturers who need a supply partner they can count on year after year, not just for the next order.
Our customers operate in demanding environments where getting the material right matters: medical manufacturing, aerospace and defense, power generation and energy transmission, industrial OEM work, and advanced manufacturing. We bring real materials expertise, tight operations, and modern systems to all of it, and we keep growing our national footprint alongside long-term customer programs and supply partnerships.
Reliability is our brand.
About the Role
The Supply Chain Manager owns how material moves into and out of Source 21. You'll lead procurement, vendor relationships, inventory, and logistics, and keep the right material in the right place at the right cost.
Supply is the heart of what we promise our customers. This role is built for an experienced supply chain pro who can lock in reliable, competitive supply and run a disciplined, data-accurate operation while we grow nationally.
How We Work
Source 21 runs on disciplined systems and fast execution. We lean on ISO-driven quality systems, solid accounting, real inventory controls, and clear workflows, and on people who can move work forward without being told twice.
We value initiative over instruction and follow-through over busywork. Calm is a competitive advantage. Clarity beats optimism. The people who do well here take ownership, connect the dots, and treat reliability as the product.
What You'll Do
Procurement & Sourcing
- Lead procurement: source materials, negotiate pricing, and lock in competitive, reliable supply.
- Manage vendor and mill relationships, and qualify and onboard new suppliers.
- Keep alternate sources in place so supply never stops.
Inventory & Materials
- Manage inventory for strong turns and to protect cash flow.
- Line up purchasing with sales demand, customer requirements, and lead times.
- Review and reconcile inventory data so the ERP stays accurate.
Logistics & Flow
- Oversee purchase order processing and logistics so material shows up on time and on budget.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, and sort out supply exceptions when they come up.
Process & Cost
- Build and improve supply chain processes across procurement, inventory, and fulfillment.
- Find and drive cost savings and margin improvements.
- Keep the data clean across ERP and supplier records.
Location: On-site daily in Columbus, Ohio. Travel is limited, with the occasional vendor or mill visit. This isn't a fit if you're looking for remote or hybrid-first.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5 to 7 years in supply chain, procurement, or materials management.
- Metals industry experience is required (distribution, processing, or manufacturing). We won't be able to consider candidates without direct industry background.
- Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Comfort with ERP systems. NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities without constant direction.
Highly Valued
- Direct experience sourcing stainless, nickel alloys, or copper and brass.
- Established mill relationships and familiarity with mill test reports and material specs (ASTM/AMS).
- Experience with commodity cost management or hedging (LME, for example).
- ISO-driven quality and inventory control experience.
Why This Role Is Different
Supply is the core of our promise. Here you own continuity, cost, and turns, the levers that make reliability real. You'll have a direct hand in margin and the room to build the supply chain as we scale.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base pay based on your experience.
- Annual performance bonus tied to company results and your own contribution.
- Comprehensive healthcare benefits.
- 401(k) with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of what you put in.
- Paid time off, plus company holidays.
- Relocation support available for the right candidate.
- Long-term growth in a culture built on performance and accountability.
