Job Description Summary:

***Position is looking for a P1 in a 4-year program, or P1-P3 in a 6-year program. This is a part-time casual (as needed) position at Grant Medical Center. Candidate must be enrolled in pharmacy school and have an intern license. Must work every other weekend, be part of the holiday rotation, and be able to pick up additional hours during summer and winter breaks***
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs any or all of the functions of the department as assigned according to established procedure. Based on ability, experience, and performance, performs the increasingly judgmental activities of a pharmacist pursuant to State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Under supervision, gains the practical experience necessary to function competently and effectively upon licensure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma.
- Registration with The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Interns must be actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist through completion of academic and/or post-graduate experience requirements. These qualifications can be met by active enrollment in a College of Pharmacy, or for international pharmacy graduates, satisfactorily passed the FPGEE and the TSE or TOEFL-ibt (these are completed through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy [NABP]). All interns must have an active intern license prior to employment.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Obtain, prepare, and label pharmacy products according to department policy for final distribution.
15%
Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, review and interpret orders for pharmacy products needed for patient care, perform any necessary interventions, and process according to department policy and procedure.

Produce billing, monitoring, and usage documentation of pharmacy products for proper billing and inventory purposes.
5%
Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmacy products to enable efficient distribution.
10%
Provide information via phone/in person to other healthcare professionals and/or customers.
5%
Submit medication charge data to assure proper reimbursement.
5%
May assist in training technicians, externs and interns in technical aspects of duties.
5%
Participate in special projects when necessary.
