Job description

A leading specialty retail organization is seeking Store Designers to support its Store Design team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing retail store designs from initial floor plans through storefront elevations while ensuring alignment with established brand standards and design guidelines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on retail design experience and a strong portfolio showcasing retail environments, store concepts, space planning, fixtures, and storefront design.
  • Location: Columbus, OH (hybrid in office Tue, Wed, + Thurs)
  • Duration: Sep 7, 2026 - Mar 7, 2027
  • Pay Rate: $44/hour

Responsibilities:
  • Create store designs, including floor plans and storefront elevations.
  • Develop concepts for store architecture, fixtures, lighting, layouts, and space planning.
  • Prepare material takeoffs and communicate revisions to the Construction team.
  • Review construction drawings to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final designs.
  • Review site information provided by landlords and external consultants.
  • Provide design guidance and clarification to purchasing and construction teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, construction, and other project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Retail design experience within a corporate environment, architectural/design firm, or design consultancy.
  • Proficiency in: AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio/work samples are required with submission.
