Job Description
Title: PCU / Step-down RN - Adult & Geriatric Surgical/Burn
Schedule:
- Shift: 12-hour nights - 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend requirement: every other / every third weekend required
Requirements:
- Required: 2+ years recent PCU/step-down experience
- Preferred: prior charge RN experience; experience with similar patient populations; teaching hospital experience
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- EMR: EPIC documentation
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a step-down unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including arterial, central, PICC, and peripheral line care.
- Perform wound care, including burn dressings and wound VAC management.
- Conduct flap checks and participate in leech therapy as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
Compliance / Notes:
- Ohio fingerprinting required; candidates must complete fingerprinting ASAP after booking.
- RN must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission.
- Reference rule: at least one manager/supervisor required; no coworker references allowed.
