- Coordinates and manages transitional work and return-to-work programs for injured or disabled employees.
- Reviews medical documentation and work restrictions to determine appropriate job accommodation and transitional work assignments.
- Monitors employee progress and adjusts return-to-work plans based on medical updates and functional capabilities.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of case activities, communications, accommodations, and outcomes.
- Serves as a liaison and collaborates with employees, managers, HR staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective case coordination and resolution.
- Provides education for employees and managers on accommodation, return-to-work, and Workers' Compensation processes.
- Participates in case conferences and claim review meetings as needed.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Case Management, or related field, or equivalent experience, required.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws, claims management, and return-to-work programs.
- Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), reasonable accommodations, and the interactive process.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
Experience:
- Two years of case management experience in occupational health, disability management, workers' compensation, or related setting, required.
- Experience reviewing medical records, work restrictions, and functional capacity information, required.
- Experience working with self-insured employers, third-party administrators, and Workers' Compensation carriers, required.
