Job description

Position Overview:
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in managing, executing, and leading all administrative and athletic functions of a competitive collegiate sports program. This role is responsible for setting and maintaining team rules and expectations, coaching and developing student-athletes, and driving recruiting efforts from initial outreach through campus visits. Additionally, the Assistant Head Coach coordinates team travel logistics, conducts film analysis and opponent scouting, and manages program-specific content creation to enhance alumni engagement and promote both the team and Denison University.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists Head Coach with practice and game planning.
  • Develops training sessions for Denison athletes and provides athletes with feedback and direction.
  • Develops strategy for future opponents and analyzes film and creates scouting reports.
  • Recruits prospective student-athletes, communicates via email, phone, and in-person at recruiting events.
  • Arranges travel plans and itineraries for the team including making hotel reservations, meals, equipment, and practice schedule. .
  • Updates and maintains social media content. Posts stories and videos to ensure a strong interactive presence for the sport.
  • Monitors student-athletes' academic progress
  • Reinforces team and University rules and expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Driver's License required
Preferred Requirements:
Master's Degree
