Job description

Position Summary
Franklin University is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated students to join our Marketing & Purchasing Work-Study Program. Marketing & Purchasing Work Study serves as a valuable extension of the Marketing and Purchasing teams by supporting university events, promotional initiatives, apparel operations, social media activities, and general departmental projects.
This position offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience while developing valuable skills in communication, teamwork, event support, customer service, marketing, and project coordination. The role is designed to be accessible to students from all academic majors and backgrounds.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with the organization, inventory management, distribution, and tracking of university promotional items, apparel, and swag.
  • Assist with social media content creation and event coverage.
  • Represent Franklin University at campus and community events.
  • Support commencement activities, including merchandise and apparel sales.
  • Assist with event setup, teardown, and attendee engagement activities.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to Marketing and Purchasing projects.
  • Participate in outreach efforts that promote university programs, events, and student engagement opportunities.
  • Complete special projects and assignments as needed.

Responsibilities may vary throughout the year based on departmental priorities, seasonal initiatives, and event schedules.
Qualifications
  • Must be a current Franklin student, and have Federal Work Study eligibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with social media platforms is preferred but not required.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Work Study: Up to 20 hours per week. On-campus availability preferred Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Flexible scheduling based on student availability and departmental needs.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support university events and special programs.
  • Physical activities may include lifting, organizing, and transporting promotional materials and event supplies.
