The estimated base salary range for this role is “$145,000 to $185,000” per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

Reporting to the Director, AS Operations Excellence and partnering closely with plant leadership teams, the Manager, AS Reliability & Maintenance leads the development and implementation of maintenance and reliability programs, standards, and best practices across AS manufacturing facilities. This role partners with plant maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, asset performance, and operational efficiency through preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance practices. This manager will also provide technical support, monitor performance metrics, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives that support safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives. The manager champions reliability and maintenance skill and competency development across broad operational leaders and teams and develops reliability subject matter experts and capabilities across AS manufacturing operations.

What does a Manager, Reliability & Maintenance do? Safety, Environmental and Sustainability

• Supports the development and execution of the company’s EHS strategy within the maintenance organization.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develops a culture of zero injuries through risk assessment awareness and a commitment to eliminating workplace hazards.
• Works with sites to achieve high standards of 5S and housekeeping to minimize risk and maximize operational performance.

Maintenance & Reliability Strategy and Standards

• Develops and supports the implementation of AS reliability strategies, improvement plans, and standards to enhance asset condition, process health, work practices, and workforce capabilities.
• Identifies opportunities for maintenance and reliability improvement and recommends solutions.
• Implements approved reliability initiatives and process improvements.
• Shares and drives maintenance and reliability best practices across assigned facilities and supports training and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Develops dashboards and reporting of maintenance and reliability performance metrics for assigned facilities.

Develop, Implement, and Improve Maintenance Management System Best Practices

• Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of maintenance management system processes related to maintenance metrics, reporting, and work management.
• Implements operator basic care processes to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including lubrication, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, time-based maintenance, and work order tracking.
• Optimizes down-day effectiveness processes to improve maintenance execution and equipment availability.
• Supports maintenance and capital project teams by identifying opportunities to improve asset reliability and equipment performance.
• Provides technical guidance and training support to maintenance personnel to strengthen maintenance effectiveness.
• Manages critical spare parts processes to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Network Reliability and Maintenance Skill and Competency Development

• Organizes and leads the Maintenance and Reliability Network.
• Provides technical input regarding maintenance and reliability competencies and training needs.
• Supports competency development initiatives and assists with the delivery of technical training programs.
• Provides technical support and mentoring to maintenance teams as needed.

Operating Plan

• Achieves operating plan objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
• Develops critical business processes, management routines, and performance metrics that align expectations and deliver sustainable improvements.
• Manages portfolio of maintenance and reliability improvement projects that achieve growth and productivity expectations and tracks and reports on progress.
• Drives maintenance and reliability best practices, including Predictive Maintenance (PDM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), and Precision Maintenance.
• Achieves manufacturing financial targets and key performance metrics.
• Identifies and resolves common-cause and special-cause issues that impact plant reliability and operational performance.
• Investigates manufacturing issues, analyzes supporting data, recommends corrective actions, and oversees implementation to improve plant performance.
• Collaborates with plant maintenance teams and production personnel to drive maintenance improvements and implement practical solutions that deliver measurable operational results.

Travel: Moderate; approximately 15%-50% domestic travel

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, maintenance management, operations management, or a related technical discipline required; an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and progressive maintenance and reliability leadership experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of maintenance, reliability, engineering, operations, or manufacturing experience, including responsibility for maintenance improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated success improving equipment reliability, operational performance, productivity, and cost through maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Multi-site manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of maintenance and reliability methodologies, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Precision Maintenance, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, lubrication excellence, vibration analysis, thermography, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence practices.
