Drug and Alcohol Program Specialist
Airlines and Aviation 
$26.00 per hour 
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Columbus, Ohio Near Easton (onsite)
Contract Through March 2027

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform DOT/FAA-regulated drug and alcohol tests, including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up collections
  • Obtain DOT Urine Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) certifications if not already held – certification support will be provided
  • Manage chain of custody documentation – maintaining proper storage, organization, and preparation for lab shipment
  • Coordinate random drug and alcohol test scheduling and employee notifications
  • Contact and schedule pre-employment drug tests for new hires
  • Research and gather Previous Employer documentation for incoming and exiting employees, communicating with external parties to obtain required records
  • Maintain and update leave of absence tracking on a quarterly basis
  • Serve as backup to the Drug & Alcohol Programs Manager as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and supplies inventory for all collection activities
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Background in regulated drug and alcohol testing, medical or clinical settings, or a related compliance field – the ability to understand DOT/FAA regulations is essential
  • Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency – this is the primary tool used for recordkeeping and program tracking
  • Exceptional discretion and ability to always maintain strict confidentiality – this role handles sensitive employee information daily
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you’ll interact with employees at all levels and external contacts to gather required documentation
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills – able to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic, shifting-priority environment
  • Aviation industry experience and prior DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing experience are strong pluses
