Job description

M.J. Design Associates is an award-winning landscape design-build firm located on a beautiful two-acre property with inspiring gardens and a collaborative, hands-on team. As a company led by experienced Landscape Architects, M.J. Design is dedicated to delivering high-quality service, attention to detail, and a passion for plants. The Landscape Maintenance Foreman will play a key role in maintaining client properties, leading crews, and upholding the company’s standards of excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about horticulture, enjoy working outdoors, and are looking to grow their careers in a supportive and engaging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and work alongside landscape maintenance crews to maintain client properties to the highest standards.
  • Perform weekly lawn care and bed maintenance, including edging, mulching, weed control, mowing, and pruning.
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail.
  • Participate in team development and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage multiple jobs and coordinate tasks to meet project timelines and client expectations.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and represent the company professionally on-site.
  • Support a culture of organization, cleanliness, and pride in equipment and facilities.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and experience operating a truck and trailer.
  • Willingness to obtain the Ohio Pesticide Applicators License.
  • Three years of experience as a team leader, foreman, or crew leader in the landscape industry (or a 2- or 4-year degree in horticulture, landscape, or construction-related discipline).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer service skills and a passion for working outdoors with plants.
  • Ability to speak some Spanish is a plus; willingness to learn Spanish is required.
  • Energetic, motivated, and eager to grow within the company.
  • Non-smoker (M.J. Design Associates is a smoke-free workplace).
Compensation

$45,000 – $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
