Job Summary
The State of Ohio, Department of Job and Family Services (JFS), is seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) and Oracle Cloud@Customer environments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, migration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational support of enterprise Oracle database platforms supporting mission-critical applications. This role requires strong experience with Oracle Exadata infrastructure, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Linux administration, and database modernization initiatives.

- Participation in an on-call rotation is required
Key
ResponsibilitiesOracle Exadata Cloud@Customer Administration
- Install, configure, administer, and support Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
- Manage Oracle Cloud@Customer infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and database services.
- Perform provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with Oracle Support, infrastructure, networking, and security teams.
Oracle Database Administration
- Administer Oracle databases across Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments.
- Configure and support Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Monitor database performance, storage utilization, and system availability.
- Troubleshoot complex database, cluster, and infrastructure issues.
- Perform database performance tuning and capacity planning.
Database Migration & Modernization
- Lead Oracle database migration projects from on-premises environments to Exadata Cloud@Customer.
- Execute database upgrades, platform migrations, database consolidations, and cross-version upgrades.
- Implement minimal-downtime migration strategies.
- Validate database performance and stability following migration activities.
Disaster Recovery & High Availability
- Design, implement, and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Oracle Data Guard.
- Configure and manage DR environments for Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer.
- Conduct failover, failback, and disaster recovery testing.
- Ensure business continuity and compliance with RTO/RPO objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in enterprise environments.
- 3+ years of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) administration.
- 3+ years of Oracle Cloud@Customer infrastructure experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle Data Guard
- RMAN Backup & Recovery
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Experience setting up and managing Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
- Experience migrating Oracle databases to Exadata or Cloud@Customer platforms.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting skills.
- Experience supporting Oracle Database 19c, 21AI, and newer enterprise releases.
- Experience with Exadata X10/X11 platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle GoldenGate experience.
- Experience with Oracle ASM.
- Expertise in performance tuning and database optimization.
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical Oracle environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
