Job description

Columbus Oncology and Hematology is looking for a full-time Medical AR Specialist to join our team!  Columbus Oncology and Hematology is a private practice that offers services at three locations throughout the Columbus area. This position is responsible for claim follow-up, denial management, patient billing and account reconciliation.
This position is onsite at our Dublin, Ohio business location. This is not a remote position but a hybrid opportunity is available following training. 

  • Proven experience in reviewing, researching and claim follow-up on insurance denials.
  • Proven experience in submitting tiered appeals using precise arguments based on clinical documentation and payer medical policies.
  • Ability to navigate Practice Management and EHR to identify aged outstanding balances.
  • Ability to review medical necessity to defend high dollar claims.
  • Identify, review, research, and resolve credit balances ensuring the correct disposition of funds.
  • Strong documentation skills is a requirement on follow-up activities to provide a historical timeline of actions taken.
Qualifications:
  • Two + years’ experience in a physician practice business office performing AR follow-up, denial management and reimbursement activities.
  • Overall knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle and medical terminology.
