Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Platform


Columbus, OH - Hybrid or Remote

An established global healthcare and technology organisation is seeking a Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Platform to lead a team responsible for the operational management, support and optimisation of enterprise data and analytics platforms.


This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced data platform professional who combines strong technical knowledge with proven people management capabilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance and scalability of critical analytics environments that support enterprise-wide data and business intelligence initiatives.


The Opportunity


Reporting into the Data Technology function, you will lead a team responsible for the administration, engineering and operational support of modern data and analytics platforms, including tools such as Databricks, Power BI and Tableau.

Working closely with architecture, security, cloud and analytics teams, you'll drive platform stability, improve service delivery, optimise cloud costs and help shape the future roadmap of enterprise analytics capabilities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and develop a team of platform engineers responsible for supporting enterprise data and analytics environments
  • Ensure platform reliability, availability and performance through effective operational processes and monitoring
  • Manage user access, environment administration and security integration across analytics platforms
  • Oversee platform support requests, incident management and service delivery processes
  • Support the implementation and adoption of new platform capabilities for data engineering and analytics teams
  • Partner with architecture, cloud and security teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Monitor cloud platform utilisation and identify opportunities for cost optimisation
  • Coordinate upgrades, patching activities and platform releases
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across platform operations and support models
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards and operational procedures


Team Leadership


  • Manage and mentor a team of approximately 6-8 engineers
  • Establish clear goals, priorities and performance expectations
  • Support career development and technical growth within the team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence


About You


You'll bring a combination of technical platform expertise and leadership experience within enterprise data environments.


Required Experience


  • 9+ years of professional experience within data, analytics or platform engineering environments
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise data and analytics platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Databricks, business intelligence tools and cloud-based data ecosystems
  • Experience operating within Azure cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of platform operations, service management, incident response and reliability practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills


Preferred Experience


  • Experience supporting modern data platforms within a shared services model
  • Understanding of data engineering workflows and analytics delivery processes
  • Exposure to both legacy and modern technology environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise analytics functions
