Job description

Psychiatrist – Region 5
Location: Columbus, OH 43215
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week (may vary 24–40 hours)
Education: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)
Experience: Minimum 6 months relevant experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across a range of age groups. This role includes providing psychotherapy, medication management, and consultation while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The Psychiatrist will also contribute to training and development of staff.
Key Responsibilities
•    Evaluate, examine, and diagnose patients; prescribe medications; perform in-depth psychotherapy and counseling (including psychoanalysis and behavior modification).
•    Monitor and coordinate professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff in psychiatric care areas.
•    Review patient records for accuracy and completeness; recommend improvements in staffing and organizational practices.
•    Conduct and participate in lectures, seminars, and educational programs in psychiatry for professional and paraprofessional staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications
•    Active Ohio Medical License
•    DEA certification
•    PECOS registration
•    National Provider Identifier (NPI)
•    Experience treating adults, adolescents, and children
•    CPR certification
•    Strong knowledge of medicine, psychology, anatomy, physiology, and sociology
•    Ability to administer medications safely and effectively
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
