Job description

Job Title: Psychiatrist – Region 5
Location: Columbus, OH 43215
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends/holidays; rare after-hours calls)
Hours per Week: 20–40 (typically closer to 40)
Duration: Minimum 6 months from projected start date
Position Summary
The Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals across all age groups (adults, adolescents, and children). The role includes prescribing medications, providing psychotherapy, and coordinating psychiatric care services across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
•    Conduct psychiatric evaluations, examinations, and diagnoses 
•    Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management 
•    Provide psychotherapy and counseling (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavior modification) 
•    Monitor and coordinate activities of medical, nursing, and direct care staff related to psychiatric services 
•    Review patient records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance 
•    Recommend improvements in staffing and organizational processes 
•    Participate in and deliver lectures, training sessions, and seminars for healthcare staff 
Required Skills & Competencies
•    Strong knowledge of medicine, psychiatry, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology 
•    Proficiency in medication administration and treatment planning 
•    Ability to analyze complex data and make sound clinical decisions 
•    Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills 
•    Ability to interpret technical medical literature 
•    Experience handling sensitive patient interactions 
Minimum Qualifications
•    Valid Ohio Medical License (per Section 4731.13 of the Ohio Revised Code) 
•    Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program (AMA, AOA, or equivalent) 
•    OR recognized as a psychiatrist with at least 5 years of psychiatry-focused medical practice 
•    Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)

•    DEA Registration 
•    PECOS enrollment 
•    National Provider Identifier (NPI) 
•    CPR Certification 
•    COVID-19 vaccination card or approved exemption
