Position: Logistic Specialist - Brokerage

Pay Rate: $60k per year

Schedule: Tues-Sat 8am - 5pm

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Forward Air is looking for a Solutions Oriented Logistic Specialist. The Logistic Specialist will be responsible for managing new and existing accounts, rate negotiation with the ability to build long term business relationships. They will use exceptional customer service and problem solving skills to manage all the customers' needs and expectations. This person will be a key member of the team, reporting to the Logistics Manager. The position is responsible for effectively and efficiently finding, developing, improving and utilizing service focused methods for moving and protecting the profitability of the operations 

Job Requirements:

  • Freight brokerage experience required. 
  • Ability to negotiating with carriers
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work with all levels - Operations and/or sales
  • Ability to develop long-term business relationships. 
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Some college coursework is preferred, but not required. 
  • Knowledge of major cities/airport locations in the continental US
  • Willing to work Saturdays
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
  • General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400
  • Must be 18 or older
