Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
Define activities, duration, work sequences, and relationship logic to develop implement the scope of work plan and develop milestones to represent key decisions and deliverables that take place during execution.
Ensure all logic and activities support the level of detail required by the customer and meet internal department standards and guidance. Ensure all scope and deliverables are accounted for.
Provide input and guidance to schedulers in the development of fully integrated system schedules (including resource loading and leveling) for schedules that utilize critical path methodology based on work scope from the work packages and planners work list.
Responsible for the development of junior schedulers in organizing schedule review meetings with all stakeholders and incorporating appropriate details.
Engage team and stakeholders to create schedules and provide schedule analysis updates to team, alerting them to schedule risks and issues that could delay milestones. Communicate schedule status to project stakeholders.
Direct and guide the administration of the client project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards. Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the Project Management Governance Committee.
Administer and/or oversee the administration of security profiles and roles for new users within the scheduling system.
Ensure schedulers are using sound techniques and best practices to update progress, acquire information, baseline schedules, maintain schedules, develop commodity curves, track metrics, and support teams on a routine basis.
Diagnose and resolve issues with scope of work schedules.
Responsible for the development of junior level schedulers on the following: preparing and analyzing metric reports; preparing and analyzing schedule risk; developing what-if schedules to address various scenarios and options as necessary; crashing scope of work schedule durations; following processes and handbook procedures; and all aspects of scheduling within the assigned systems and software.
Ensure consistent application of earned value management reporting across the department.
Perform/coordinate schedule and cost integration including SPI/CPI and setup/maintenance of associated data systems and processes on a scope of work basis.
Work with the project teams to provide risk assessments and recommended mitigation actions as requested.
Diagnose and resolve issues with project schedules.
Own the project schedule standard work processes; leading the development, review, and implementation.
Technical SME for project scheduling within the department and will be will be responsible for supporting and providing guidance of the development and analysis of project schedule deliverables. This includes the development and analysis of a wide range of scope of work types, especially complex schedules using the assigned system.
Train schedulers and planners so they are technically able to plan, schedule, integrate, baseline, and analyze scopes of work.
When applicable, administer security, reporting, maintenance, and daily operation of systems and software.
Must be self-motivated, an excellent communicator, and team focused individual able to demonstrate expert competency in scheduling techniques and analyses on all scope of work aspects.
Additional duties include developing and implementing scope of work schedule/status reports, and providing consistent, accurate information to the senior management team.
Must be able to interface with site execution teams, contractors, and senior management.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENS:
Minimum of 6 years P6 scheduling in utilities or construction. Must have recent P6 experience. This level scheduler is expected to need very little training and should meet performance goals with minimum ramp up time.
Scheduling experience in utilities or construction management.
With a qualified Bachelor's degree, eight (8) years' qualified experience required; with a qualified Associate's degree, ten (10) years' qualified experience.
Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management.
Scheduling experience in Transmission, Substation, Construction or Engineering preferred.
Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures.
Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment. Otherwise, a certification is preferred but not required.

Proficient at reviewing scope, client requirements, division of responsibility, scope of work objectives and constraints to develop the strategy for effective project delivery.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to support large-scale utility and construction projects. This role will partner closely with Project Managers and project teams to develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules while ensuring alignment with project objectives, milestones, and organizational standards.
The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience with Primavera P6, a strong understanding of utility or construction project environments, and the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and leadership.
 
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, update, and analyze detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
Define project activities, durations, sequencing, dependencies, milestones, and critical path schedules.
Create and maintain fully integrated project schedules, including resource loading and leveling.
Ensure all project scope, deliverables, and work packages are accurately reflected within project schedules.
Lead schedule review meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
Provide schedule status updates, identify risks, and communicate potential impacts to project milestones.
Perform schedule analysis and recommend mitigation strategies to address schedule delays or constraints.
Develop and maintain schedule baselines and perform progress updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare project reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and schedule performance metrics.
Support earned value management activities, including schedule performance analysis (SPI/CPI).
Develop what-if scenarios, recovery schedules, and schedule compression strategies as needed.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, suppliers, planners, and other stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior schedulers when appropriate.
Support project management governance standards, processes, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
 
Education & Experience
One of the following combinations is required:
Associate degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience Requirements
Experience in project scheduling within utility, construction, maintenance, operations, or project management environments.
Current or recent hands-on experience using Primavera P6.
Experience developing and managing integrated project schedules using critical path methodology.
Experience supporting large-scale capital, infrastructure, utility, or construction projects.
Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and project lifecycle management.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with earned value management concepts and schedule/cost integration.
Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, CCM, CET, or similar.
Experience mentoring or training project team members.
Familiarity with project management governance frameworks and reporting standards.
