Registered Nurse (RN) - PreOp/PACU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative/Post Anesthesia Care Unit team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care to individuals undergoing various surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Preoperative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
  • Monitor patient vitals and respond to their needs promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding preoperative and postoperative care.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in Pre/Post Anesthesia Care is required.
  • Proficient in using Epic electronic health records.
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma center and outpatient settings is preferred.
  • PACU experience is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Previous charge experience is preferred.
Patient Care Information

The patient care ratio is set at 1:1, ensuring personalized attention for each individual.

Unit Details

The unit handles various procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
  • Femoral-Popliteal and Femoral-Tibial-Peroneal Bypass
  • Angiograms
  • Pulmonary decortication
  • Ablation procedures
Shift Information

This position typically requires day shifts, either as 3x12 hours from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM or as 4x10 hours from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Call requirements include every third to fourth weekend.
