Job description

Job Title: Psychiatrist – Region 5
Location: Orient, OH 43146 
Duration: Minimum 6 months (with potential for extension or permanent hire)
Schedule:
•    Full-time preferred (40 hours/week) 
•    Part-time considered (20–32 hours/week) 
•    Core hours typically between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM 
•    Flexible start/end times based on facility needs 
Job Summary
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified, Ohio-licensed Psychiatrist to provide on-site behavioral health services to adult male patients in a correctional reception facility. The role involves collaborative, multidisciplinary care and may lead to a long-term or permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with intra- and interdepartmental teams to deliver behavioral health treatment using nationally recognized standards 
•    Conduct psychiatric evaluations, examinations, and complete clinical documentation in electronic health records 
•    Order and interpret diagnostic tests 
•    Manage and monitor psychotropic medications 
•    Make referrals for specialized or higher-level care when necessary 
•    Perform duties in alignment with scope of practice, ODRC policies, protocols, and American
Correctional Association standards 
•    Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical meetings 
•    Engage in collaborative practice agreements as required 
Patient Care Expectations
•    See approximately 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift 
Required Licensure & Qualifications
•    Active Ohio Medical License 
•    Board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry 
•    Master’s Degree (MD or DO with Psychiatry specialization) 
•    BLS/CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level) 
•    Ohio Medical License verification 
•    Board Certification (or eligibility documentation) 
•    DEA Certification
