Minimum Qualifications

  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record required (EPIC charting)
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (telemetry / cardiac care skills)
  • Oncology RN or medical-surgical oncology experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Float between PCU and Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed (PCU RN and Med-Surg RN responsibilities)
  • Deliver high-quality patient care to incarcerated patients in a secure, locked corrections health unit (Corrections Nurse experience helpful)
  • Ensure staff and patient safety and adhere to unit and corrections protocols
  • Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 in PCU and 1:4–5 in Medical-Surgical
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drips (monitoring; no titration)
  • Administer IV therapies and blood products; manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines
  • Care for patients with active oncology diagnoses, postoperative needs, COPD, sepsis, and other complex medical conditions
  • Use Pyxis for medication administration and EPIC for documentation and charting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
  • Participate in orientation, comply with Ohio fingerprinting process, and follow facility security clearance procedures
