What We Look For In a CogAT Tutor
  • Advanced Test Mastery: Deep knowledge of CogAT test batteries including Verbal Battery covering verbal analogies, sentence completion, and verbal classification, Quantitative Battery covering number analogies, number puzzles, and number series, and Nonverbal Battery covering figure matrices, paper folding, and figure classification. Ability to explain cognitive reasoning patterns while preparing students for gifted program identification.
  • Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching pattern recognition, analogical reasoning, and spatial visualization strategies for CogAT. Guides students through identifying verbal relationships, solving number sequence patterns, mentally folding and unfolding paper shapes, and classifying figures by multiple attributes.
