Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize patent and trademark portfolios.

Conduct competitive intelligence and IP landscape analysis.

Support IP licensing, enforcement, and monetization initiatives.

Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, settlements, and licenses.

Prepare claim charts, perform risk assessments, and support litigation matters.

Advise leadership on IP strategy and risk mitigation.

Assist with IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Manage outside counsel, vendors, budgets, and IP operations.


Required Qualifications:

J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Science (Mechanical/Electrical preferred).

Licensed attorney in at least one U.S. state.

Registered with the USPTO (or eligible).

Minimum 2+ years of IP law experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.


Preferred Experience:

Patent prosecution and portfolio management.

Patent litigation and enforcement.

Drafting and negotiating IP licenses and agreements.

Freedom-to-operate/clearance opinions.

Technical knowledge in power systems, HVAC, liquid cooling, or related engineering fields.
