Job description
The Attorney 1 role is a key position within the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Conducting legal research and preparing written reports.
• Responding to law - related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner.
• Assisting staff attorneys with investigations involving professional misconduct of educators, with an emphasis on cases not involving criminal convictions.
• Drafting, analyzing, and reviewing subpoenas and public records requests.
• Preparing cases for administrative review of disciplinary action, including editing and proofreading documents and drafting interview and document summaries.
• Attending administrative hearings.
• Reviewing hearing officer reports and recommendations.
• Responding to inquiries from agency employees, government officials, and the public.
