Paraprofessional - Student Support (Behavior & Life Skills)

Pay: $19-$22/hour

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Schedule: Full-time & Part-time available

Location: Columbus, OH

At Ability Matters, our paraprofessionals do more than classroom support. We partner with schools and families to create inclusive, personalized, and community-based learning experiences for students with autism and other neurological disabilities.

You are directly helping students build life skills, confidence, and independence that carries far beyond school walls.

What You'll Do
  • Provide 1:1 or small group instructional support to help students achieve their IEP goals.

  • Help build behavioral, academic, social, and life skills.

  • Support students in classroom and real-world settings.

  • Track student progress, behavior, and educational goals to support individualized instruction.

  • Partner with teachers, families, and staff to provide consistent, student-centered support.

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and growth

  • Serve as a positive role model while helping students feel safe, engaged, and included throughout the school day.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, 2-year degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Previous education or human services experience is helpful but not required

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork

  • Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation
