Are you someone who loves solving problems, talking with people, and making a real difference in your community? We are hiring a Consumer Loan Officer at our Amanda office location!
The Consumer Loan Officer services a loan portfolio and develops new relationships through prospective customer calling. Reviews, rates, and advises financial institution on approved loans by working within the Bank's credit policy. Analyzes applicant's financial status and loan repayment ability, completes appropriate loan application, and decisions the applications. Services loan portfolio on an ongoing basis. A community-minded individual who will represent the Bank at various business and community functions.
Essential Functions
  • Attends to the needs of present and potential customers seeking loans that involve unsecured funds and/or loans secured by mortgages or other collateral.
  • Interviews loan applicants to develop information concerning their needs and desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan is an acceptable risk. Makes decisions on loans while adhering to Bank's lending policy.
  • Obtains financial data, conducts credit checks, analyzes the data, and shares with superiors as needed.
  • Makes loan decisions based on credit worthiness. Makes those loans within assigned lending limit, or makes recommendations to superiors when the loan is over assigned loan limit.
  • Follows current loans to monitor the loan payments and initiate the collection process.
  • Calls on potential and/or existing customers to develop new business and increase existing business.
  • Promotes and cross-sells additional KNB products and services tailored to customer needs, including deposit options that facilitate simple and secure loan payments.
  • Files titles, mortgages, liens and conducts site visits.
  • Represents the bank at various community functions.
  • Updates current knowledge on compliance and risk management.

Education & Experience
College degree preferred. Five years in lending and credit analysis experience required.
