Job Title: Part time- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Location: Orient OH 43146
Pay rate: $65/hr.- $75/hr.
Duration: 6 months to Long term
Shift: 08:00am-04:00pm (M-F)
Hours/week: 20 Hours/week
Summary:
Searching for a family or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner licensed to work in Ohio with at least one year of working NP experience in a primary care setting or hospital medicine to provide on-site primary care services part-time to the male population at this correctional facility. The schedule is two ten-hour shifts/week (no evenings, weekends, or holidays). There is some flexibility in start/end times. The assignment is projected to last 6 months but may be extended based on continued need and mutual agreement. 
Job Description:
•    Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using ODRC policies and protocols for guidance 
•    Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases & prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery as training & competency allows.
•    Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions & diagnoses new conditions 
•    Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution & reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly 
•    Orders & reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, & other diagnostic testing as appropriate 
•    With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification & requests for non-formulary medications as necessary 
•    Performs routine & emergency medical care of patients as scheduled 
•    Examines, diagnoses & treats patients within scope of practice, as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board, as applicable 
•    Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO 
•    Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to ODRC Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines, policies, protocols & related American Correctional Association standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments & diagnostic impressions, as well as any other treatment plans & follow-up parameters 
•    Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance
Required: 
•    BLS/ CPR certification
•    Drug Enforcement Administration certification. 
•    Ohio Medical License  
•    ANCC Certificate
