Job Summary
The Noncredit Instructor plays a vital role in the success of our workforce development training programs in Advanced Manufacturing. This instructor will deliver industry-selected curriculum that provides students with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical, biomedical, and advanced manufacturing concepts. The goal of the course is to prepare students for entry-level roles in many of Ohio's fastest-growing industries. Instructors will lead hybrid-format courses that emphasize safety, precision, regulatory compliance, and hands-on learning applications. This opportunity is an excellent choice for experienced professionals to shape the future of the industry and mentor the next generation of technicians who will be supporting central Ohio. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate working professionals with varying availability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instruction & Student Learning
Deliver dynamic instruction on key industry topics, including:
  • Providing a comprehensive overview of general advanced manufacturing principles;
  • Emphasizing the importance of safety protocols in facility and laboratory environments;
  • Enhancing understanding of precise measurement techniques in bench chemistry, laboratory, and quality-controlled environments;
  • Promoting adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP);
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of controlled manufacturing principles, including cleanroom operations;
  • Developing proficiency in materials handling and process control;
  • Expanding knowledge of upstream and downstream processes; and
  • Ensuring awareness and compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations.

Additionally, this role may require expertise in manufacturing, electro-mechanical engineering, AC/DC electrical systems, motor controls, and PLCs.
  • Collaborates closely with team members to ensure the success and sustainability of the program.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with lab instructors to monitor workshop progress and address individual student needs, fostering a seamless experience for students transitioning between lecture-based and lab-based class days.
  • Supports the maintenance of instructional materials and facilities as needed.
  • Actively participates in updating course descriptions, course outlines, and syllabi to ensure the course content remains current and relevant.

Customer Service and Classroom Support
  • Utilizes effective assessment techniques to evaluate student progress in achieving course goals and objectives, ensuring accurate measurement of their performance.
  • Communicates course progress promptly and effectively to students, providing timely feedback on their achievements.
  • Determines and submits students' grades in strict adherence to established college policies and procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Maintains meticulous and comprehensive records in accordance with departmental policies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Actively assists in identifying students who may require academic or other forms of support and promptly responds by connecting them with appropriate resources and services.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance, adhering to the assigned schedule and consistently meeting workload demands.
  • Exhibits a professional work ethic and willingly takes on additional responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the overall success of the team and institution.
  • Performs additional related duties as required, showcasing flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to contribute to the smooth functioning of the educational environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • At least three (3) years of experience working in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) manufacturing facility.
