RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Columbus, OH
Contract Type: Travel
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Pay: $2,016/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse for a travel assignment supporting post-anesthesia recovery care in an acute care setting. The RN will manage Phase I recovery patients, provide advanced monitoring, and respond to post-procedural complications. This role requires night shifts with rotating weekend coverage and strong critical care and trauma experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Phase I PACU recovery care for post-anesthesia patients
  • Monitor airway, hemodynamics, and neurologic status post-procedure
  • Manage ventilated patients and advanced monitoring devices
  • Administer IV medications, vasopressors, and blood products
  • Perform dysrhythmia recognition and management
  • Manage pain control, PCA pumps, and sedation scales
  • Care for central lines, EVDs, and ICP monitoring when applicable
  • Follow malignant hyperthermia and emergency protocols
  • Document care in the electronic charting system

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required at submission
  • Minimum 2 years PACU or critical care experience required
  • Phase I PACU experience required
  • ACLS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Telemetry and ventilator management experience required
  • Level I trauma experience preferred
  • Ability to work 3x12 night shifts
  • Weekend coverage 1–2 weekends per 4-week schedule required
