Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to our patients. This role is focused on ensuring the safety and comfort of patients pre- and post-surgery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in critical care environments and be capable of handling various surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and provide appropriate pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Monitor patients during recovery to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers to deliver the highest level of care.
  • Utilize Epic software for patient documentation and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to BLS and ACLS protocols as necessary.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) preferred.
  • Epic experience is required.
  • Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center or outpatient setting is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Previous charge experience is preferred.
Patient Care

Our patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring personalized attention and care for each individual during their surgical journey.

Available Shifts

This position typically requires working day shifts, consisting of either:

  • 3 x 12-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
  • 4 x 10-hour shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM
Call Requirements

Call will be included in this role, with expectations of every third to fourth weekend.

The unit is experienced in handling diverse surgical cases, including:

  • AAA repair
  • TAVR
  • EVAR
  • Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass
  • Angiogram
