Summary:
Production Operators are an important part of the manufacturing process and will be placed in one of a variety of L-H Battery departments from Materials Management to Module manufacturing.  Operators may be responsible for transporting or loading materials, operating and/or monitoring production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing of products. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards. The operator will work as part of a team to achieve production goals in a fast-paced environment.


 Key Responsibilities:
    The forklift operator will be expected to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts and other machinery to move component parts and raw materials onto and off trucks, floor locations, pallet rack locations, and loading docks 
    Load and operate machinery and equipment to manufacture products according to specifications
    Monitor production processes to maintain production efficiency.
    Ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods
    Follows safety regulations and company guidelines
    Manage material inventories to maintain equipment operations.
    Understand, demonstrate, and adherence to workplace and process safety, PPE requirements, including, but not limited to hazardous materials, equipment and other general workplace requirements.
    Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and targets.
    Escalate concerns according to company protocols and procedures.
    Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
    Perform other duties as assigned.


 Education/Experience:
    High School graduate or GED required
    Previous experience as a Forklift Operator in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    Ability to read and understand written instructions, as well as comprehend verbal instructions
    Previous experience as a Forklift Operator in a manufacturing environment preferred
    Easily demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, decision making and troubleshooting abilities
    Ability to work in a team environment
    Basic understanding and experience / comfort level with computers and digital tools including experience using Microsoft Office
    Use of PPE including, but not limited to clean room gown, mask, bouffant cap, safety glasses, and protective, substantial footwear
    Ability to walk and stand up, kneel and/or bend up to and including the entirety of work shift.
    Operators may be placed on a work process or in an area that has specific push/pull, or lifting requirements
    Multiple types of chemicals and raw materials are used in the production processes in which an Operator may come in contact
    Candidates and Operators who require a reasonable accommodation to perform one or more of the above listed essential functions of the role must inform leadership as soon as possible.  All requests for a reasonable accommodation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Additional requirements:
    Prompt and regular attendance within our onsite operations
    Ability to work 12-hour shifts and set work day rotations that can result in overtime over a two-week work period
    Flexibility to work adjusted shifts or additional overtime as necessary
    L-H Battery will align associates by shift based on seniority.  Associates identified for second shift may train on first shift initially and then be placed on second shift based on production ramp up schedule and/or business need.
    Candidates receiving offers will be offered a specific shift and requests for shift alignment will be considered and processed according to both seniority and business need
