Job description

LPNs must be advocates of Patient Centered Care. They must also be caring, sympathetic, responsible, and detail oriented. They must be able to correctly assess patients conditions, and determine when consultation is required.

They need compassion and the ability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are expected to treat, educate, and provide support to residents. This role provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to residents, as well as meets the needs of the family members/care givers.LPNs are expected to provide direct resident care on the assigned unit during the assigned shift under the direction of physicians or a Registered Nurse (RN). LPNs implement facility policies, procedures, and coordinates nursing activities with other services provided by members of the interdisciplinary health care team.LPNs need to be able to follow orders and work with supervision

LPNs have four main areas of focus: assessment, treatment, documentation, and education of residents in their care.
