Job description

Columbus Oncology and Hematology is looking for a full‑time Medical AR Specialist to join our team. We are a private practice that offers services at three locations throughout the Columbus area. This position is responsible for claim follow‑up, denial management, patient billing and account reconciliation.

Location: onsite at our Dublin, Ohio business location. This is not a remote position, but a hybrid opportunity is available after training.

  • Proven experience in reviewing, researching and claiming follow‑up on insurance denials.
  • Proven experience in submitting tiered appeals using precise arguments based on clinical documentation and payer medical policies.
  • Ability to navigate Practice Management and EHR to identify aged outstanding balances.
  • Ability to review medical necessity to defend high dollar claims.
  • Identify, review, research and resolve credit balances, ensuring the correct disposition of funds.
  • Strong documentation skills are required for follow‑up activities to provide a historical timeline of actions taken.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years’ experience in a physician practice business office performing AR follow‑up, denial management, and reimbursement activities.
  • Overall knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle and medical terminology.
