Job description

Medical Records

Position Summary: Medical Records maintains the care community's resident records upon admission and through discharge.

Position Responsibilities for Medical Records:

  • Sets up new resident records and maintains current resident records
  • Maintains discharged records in proper order
  • Follows HCF Medical Records request policy
  • Ensures completeness of charts
  • Attend required in-service education
  • Must be able to code and maintain diagnostic index
  • Participates in QA process
  • Communicates effectively with residents, staff, visitors and outside agencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A high school diploma or equivalent preferred from an accredited school. College and/or Medical record schooling is desired but not required.
