What You'll Do

 The Medical Laboratory Scientist precisely and accurately performs and results laboratory procedures using established quality assurance protocols. The position assists in the collection of laboratory specimens, performs instrument maintenance and recordkeeping, and acts as a resource person for issues of laboratory services. 

Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree: Bachelor's Degree Major/Area of Concentration: Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical/Physical/Biological Science Preferred Education: Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent laboratory training/experience or provisions meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA Regulations 42CFR493.1489 Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification must be in place or obtained within six months of hire. Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). 

Required Experience: Clinical experience as part of Bachelor degree. Preferred Experience: Four or more years performing high complexity testing in the respective lab section plus any other qualifications specified in the CLIA regulations
