Jumpmind is excited to announce our Summer 2026 Software Development Internship program.


We are looking for passionate students eager to tackle challenging business problems and develop innovative software solutions. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on coding experience in a growing company. The program runs from May to August 2026. Interns who successfully complete the program will be eligible to apply for a full-time position at Jumpmind.


The SymmetricDS team at Jumpmind helps hundreds of customers and thousands of open-source community members replicate data quickly and reliably. Since 2007, SymmetricDS software empowers organizations to build integration solutions that combine data from disparate sources into meaningful and valuable information. Our customers include well-known brands and companies, from around the world, across multiple industries.


Requirements


Roles and Responsibilities


โ€ข Work as part of a team to collaborate on innovative solutions.

โ€ข Participate in code reviews, and deliver enhancements to Java applications.

โ€ข Follow software requirements and translate them into technical implementation of new product functionality.

โ€ข Troubleshoot customerโ€™s system and participate in root cause analysis.

โ€ข Document defects and collaborate to develop timely solutions.

โ€ข Collaborate with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and quality delivery of released software.

โ€ข Present technical topics to teammates and demonstrate functionality to business users.

โ€ข Assist users of the open-source community project.


Essential Experience, Skills, and Qualifications


โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree (or on a path to acquire one) in Computer Science, Math or related field.

โ€ข Knowledge of object-oriented programming fundamentals and Java.

โ€ข Familiar with relational database concepts.

โ€ข Good problem-solving and communication skills.

โ€ข Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team.

โ€ข Interested in helping customers/end-users apply software to solve their business problems.

โ€ข Comfortable to present ideas for a solution to the team and collect feedback.

โ€ข Ready to commute to our office (near the Polaris Mall) twice a week.


Preferred Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

โ€ข Used Java, Spring on a project with multiple packages.
โ€ข Experience writing and troubleshooting unit tests (JUnit).

โ€ข Working knowledge of writing SQL commands.

โ€ข UI/UX experience with Vaadin framework.
