Description

NCUS TEC is seeking qualified and student-focused General Education Instructors to teach courses within the proposed Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Applied Automation Technology program. General Education Instructors provide classroom-based instruction that supports students' academic, professional, and technical development within advanced manufacturing and applied automation environments.ย 

Instruction is delivered in person at the Columbus campus. Faculty assignments are based upon the instructor's documented educational background, professional experience, and demonstrated subject matter expertise.ย 

Courses may include:ย 

  • MATH-101 College Algebraย 
  • SCI-101 Environmental Scienceย 
  • SCI-201 College Physicsย 
  • ENG-101 Public Speakingย 
  • ENG-201 Workforce Literacyย 

General Education Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining accurate academic records, supporting curriculum development and revision activities, and ensuring instructional practices align with institutional policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.ย

Roles and responsibilitiesย ย ย 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:ย 

  • Deliver effective in-person classroom instruction in assigned general education courses.ย 
  • Prepare and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with approved curriculum objectives.ย 
  • Maintain instructional quality and consistency in accordance with NCUS TEC policies and procedures.ย 
  • Facilitate student learning using appropriate instructional methodologies and classroom management techniques.ย 
  • Evaluate student academic performance and maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records.ย 
  • Submit grades, attendance, and required documentation within established timelines.ย 
  • Participate in curriculum review, course revision, and continuous improvement activities to ensure course relevance and effectiveness.ย 
  • Ensure instructional materials remain current and appropriate for occupational associate degree-level education.ย 
  • Support the integration of communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and applied academic skills within career-focused learning environments.ย 
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions with students, staff, and administrators.ย 
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and institutional initiatives as assigned.ย 
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies and applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.ย 

Requirements

Educationย 

General Education Instructors must possess:ย 

  • At minimum, a bachelor's degree with a concentration in the discipline or verifiable content expertise in the subject area(s) assigned to teach, consistent with OSBCCS Rule 3332-1-16 | Program standards and ACCET Occupational Associate Degree faculty requirements;ย ย 
  • A master's degree in the teaching discipline or a related field is preferred.ย 

Official transcripts and supporting documentation verifying faculty qualifications must be submitted and maintained on file prior to instructional assignment.ย 

Examples of qualifying academic backgrounds may include:ย

SCI-101 Environmental Science - Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Science, or related fieldย 

SCI-201 College Physics - Physics, Engineering, Physical Science, or related fieldย 

ENG-101 Public Speaking - Communications, Speech, English, or related fieldย 

ENG-201 Workforce Literacy - English, Communications, Education, Workforce Development, or related fieldย 


Experienceย 

  • Prior postsecondary teaching, training, tutoring, or instructional experience preferred.ย 
  • Experience teaching adult learners or career-focused students preferred.ย 
  • Experience in curriculum development or course revision preferred.ย 

Skillsย 

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.ย 
  • Effective classroom management and instructional delivery skills.ย 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and students.ย 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic instructional technology tools.ย 
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.ย 

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTSย 

  • Ability to conduct classroom instruction in an in-person educational environment.ย
