Job Title:Assistant Dairy & Feed ManagerDepartment:FAES | Animal Sciences Columbus Dairy Center

We're looking for an Assistant Dairy & Feed Manager to join our team at the Multispecies Animal Learning Complex (MALC). In this role, you'll support daily dairy operations while also managing feed inventory, quality, and procurement.

You'll work closely with farm staff, veterinarians, nutritionists, and suppliers to help ensure animal health, efficient production, and smooth day-to-day operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on agricultural work while also contributing to teaching, research, and innovation in a collaborative environment.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of experience in farm operations or related field
  • OR bachelors in a related field and 2+ years' experience in farm operations or related field
  • Hands-on experience working with livestock and/or farm operations
  • Ability to work in both office and farm settings, including animals and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in animal science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
  • 3-5 years' experience with dairy farm operations and/or feed management
  • Experience with general equipment operations and maintenance (i.e. Skid steer, tractor, etc.)
  • Familiarity with feed inventory systems, farm management software, or agricultural logistics
  • Knowledge of livestock nutrition and feed quality standards
  • Experience leading, training, or mentoring employees or students
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is $17.50-$22.86/hr. plus staff benefits.

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications
