What is live in farm work?

Live in farm work refers to jobs where employees live on the farm property while performing agricultural tasks such as planting, harvesting, animal care, and maintenance. Workers are typically provided with accommodation as part of their compensation, which can range from shared housing to private rooms. This arrangement can be seasonal or long-term, depending on the farm's needs. Living on-site allows workers to respond quickly to farm duties and can foster a sense of community among workers. It's common in rural areas and can be a good way to gain hands-on experience in agriculture.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for a live in farm worker?

As a live-in farm worker, your daily duties often include tasks such as feeding and caring for livestock, planting or harvesting crops, cleaning animal enclosures, operating farm machinery, and maintaining fences or equipment. Workdays can start early and may vary with the season, weather, and specific type of farm. You'll typically collaborate closely with other farm workers and the farm owner, and living on-site means you'll be available for occasional after-hours responsibilities, such as emergencies with animals. This role provides hands-on experience, a strong sense of teamwork, and opportunities to learn new agricultural skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in farm worker?

To thrive as a Live In Farm Worker, you need hands-on experience with agricultural tasks, basic knowledge of crop or livestock care, and often a valid driver's license. Familiarity with machinery such as tractors, irrigation systems, and basic farm tools is typically required, along with certifications in first aid or pesticide handling in some cases. Job description

We're looking for detail-driven, western-minded brand ambassadors to represent Rock & Roll Denim - the modern western denim line from Westmoor Manufacturing, the Fort Worth, Texas family-owned western wear icon behind Panhandle and Powder River. Since 2009, Rock & Roll Denim has blended authentic cowboy heritage with bold, contemporary style, and it has the attitude on the floor to match.

As a Rock & Roll Denim brand representative, you'll bring the brand to life inside farm, ranch, and western retailers across your territory. Each visit centers on making the denim look its best - well-stocked, correctly displayed, and impossible for a shopper to walk past - and on building genuine excitement with store associates so they can confidently share the brand with their customers.

This is a great supplemental opportunity for retail merchandising pros, western wear enthusiasts, and denim lovers looking for meaningful, low-commitment work - not a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain Rock & Roll Denim's visual merchandising and fixture standards across denim displays, signage, and branded fixtures
  • Manage backstock so sizes and key styles are on the floor, correctly sized, and fully stocked
  • Ensure denim is styled and presented to reflect the Rock & Roll aesthetic and stands out to shoppers
  • Engage and educate store associates on the Westmoor story, denim fits and washes, and key styles across the line
  • Build strong relationships with store staff and management, positioning yourself as the go-to Rock & Roll Denim expert in your territory
  • Identify merchandising opportunities and share competitive intel from the field
  • Complete store visit reports through ThirdChannel's mobile app, submitting clear intel, high-quality photos, and well-written summaries

Qualifications

  • Genuine appreciation for western wear and denim - fits, washes, and the details that set a brand apart
  • Comfortable representing Rock & Roll Denim in farm, ranch, and western retail environments
  • Experience in retail, merchandising, styling, or brand ambassador roles preferred
  • Detail oriented, with an eye for a clean, well-sized, on-brand denim presentation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a natural ability to engage and inspire store teams
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable using mobile apps and everyday technology
  • Smartphone required (iOS 17+ or Android 13+)
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within your assigned territory

Job Details

  • Independent contractor position (1099)
  • One 1-hour visit per location, monthly
  • Servicing Atwoods, C-A-L Ranch, Coastal Farm & Ranch, and Rural King locations
  • Pay starting at $24/hour, based on market and experience
  • Travel incentive provided
