Job description

Skillforce is seeking experienced Construction Laborer for full-time, field-based work at a large data center campus in the Johnstown, Ohio area. Paying $30-$35/hr with 40+ hours a week, Monday through Friday. If you have a background in carpentry, electrical, pipefitting, pipe laying, or heavy equipment operation, we want to hear from you.

Construction Laborer Responsibilities:

  • Perform general labor tasks on an active commercial construction site, including material handling, site prep, cleanup, and support for multiple trade crews
  • Follow direction from site supervisors and trade leads to keep work areas safe, organized, and moving
  • Assist skilled trade crews as needed, which may include carpentry, electrical, mechanical, or other construction disciplines depending on daily priorities
  • Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment efficiently across the job site
  • Maintain OSHA-compliant work habits at all times, including proper PPE use and adherence to site safety plans
  • Adapt to shifting task assignments and trade support needs in a fast-paced, multi-trade environment

Construction Laborer Qualifications:

Required:

  • 1+ years of verifiable experience in any skilled trade (carpentry, electrical, pipefitting, pipe laying, heavy equipment operation, or related field)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required; candidates must supply their own (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hi-vis vest, gloves)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to meet all site security and access‑control requirements, including identity and employment‑eligibility verification.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using both powered and manual tools on an active construction site.

Preferred:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience working on data center, commercial, or industrial construction projects
  • Supervisory or lead experience in a trade
