Description:
As a Data Solution Analyst, you'll translate functional data and analytic requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the respective business or technology request or leveraging a variety of approved technologies. The technologies include (but are not limited to) Paxata, Tableau, Micro strategy, Business Objects, R, or other reporting and visualization solutions being considered for operationalization. You'll also have the opportunity to guide others to leverage self-service techniques for business reporting and analytics.
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeling Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in traditional data modeling techniques [3NF, Star/Snowflake, Hybrid] and data analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data integration, and data management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement data structures [Logical and Physical data models] for analytical data stores.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data structures/models.
• Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and data cleansing activities.
• Create Source to Target mapping documents, including documenting complex data transformations, integrations, and standardization.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data modelers and data engineers.
Must Have Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience [at least 5 years] in data modeling spanning the entire Development LifeCycle (Requirements to Deployment).
• At least 2 years designing data structures for either Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, or Analytical systems.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner).
• Proven experience [at least 5 years] in data analysis/profiling.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify issues and form cross functional teams to drive resolutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including facilitation and consensus building.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
• Knowledge of DevOps and DataOps.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Certification in data management or data modeling (e.g., CDMP, DAMA).
