Job description

Summary/Objective

Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for verifying incoming materials and finished products are properly manufactured by meeting the requirements of internal and customer specifications. In addition, QC Coordinator is expected to be technically knowledgeable regarding plant processes and procedures in order to provide oversight and technical support for operations.

Essential Functions

  1. Verify incoming and finished product conformance to internal company standards and customer specifications per company procedures including:
  • Verification of Food Safety and Quality processes (SOP's, SSOP's, GMPs)
  • Sanitation Verification (Allergen & ATP)
  • Weight Verification
  • Foreign Material Control-Metal Detection/Glass & Brittle Plastics
  • Label Verification
  • Hold implementation.
  • Pest control support
  • Process and Temperature monitoring
  1. Support regulatory, certification, and customer audits.
  2. Sample collection (Lab testing, retention samples).
  3. Understanding the business, the needs of the organization, and supporting business initiatives.

Work Environment

This position is a position that operates in a plant/warehouse operational environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, and a minimum of 40 hours per week is required. This position occasionally requires overtime and occasional weekend work based on operational needs.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Experience with documenting data and performing analytical calculations.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Food plant operations experience.
  2. Educational experience in analytical, chemical, biological or food sciences
