Job Title:  Field Service Technician II

Location: Columbus, OH (Columbus & East Columbus Area)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
On-Call Requirement: Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Field Service Technician II to provide on-site IT support across multiple client locations throughout the Columbus, OH area. This is a 100% field-based role requiring travel between customer sites to perform technical support, break-fix services, hardware installations, network device deployment, system upgrades, and IT infrastructure maintenance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with desktop and network technologies, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform break-fix diagnosis and repair of IT hardware and related equipment.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Execute IMAC activities (Install, Move, Add, Change) for end-user devices and IT infrastructure.
  • Support PC refresh, hardware deployment, and technology upgrade projects.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment including:
    • Routers
    • Switches
    • Firewalls
    • Wireless devices
  • Perform system upgrades, hardware replacements, and software installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity, network, and hardware-related issues.
  • Document service activities, work orders, and resolution details accurately.
  • Coordinate with remote support teams and vendors to resolve escalated issues.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with client site procedures and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT field support, desktop support, or field services.
  • Experience performing break-fix support for desktops, laptops, printers, and POS devices.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows operating systems
    • Hardware troubleshooting
    • Network fundamentals
    • Peripheral device support
  • Experience with IMAC and PC refresh projects.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently in a field environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple service calls and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between customer locations.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required.
