Job Description Summary

TheEngineer performs general maintenance and repair work to ensure hotel quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained.

Job Description

Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure their proper functioning.

Repairs: Diagnose and repair equipment and systems such as lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and HVAC units to resolve issues promptly.

Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Guest Service: Respond to guest requests and resolve maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, and common facilities with courtesy and efficiency.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are well-maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.

Supplier Communication: Communicate with suppliers and vendors for equipment servicing and parts procurement as necessary.

Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for energy-saving measures and recommend improvements to reduce utility costs.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other hotel staff, including housekeeping, front desk, and management, to provide a seamless guest experience.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
