Job description

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as ordered by Provider.

  • Full Time/Benefits Eligible
  • Monday-Friday - 8am - 5pm
  • Columbus, OH

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Responsible for explaining procedure to patient and answer questions.

• Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials as well as various media.

• Ensure equipment is in working order and reports malfunctions to appropriate person(s).

• Process routine paperwork as necessary.

• Maintain examination rooms, stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.

• Attend required staff and educational meetings.

• Maintain patient confidentiality.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensures & Certifications

Required: Completion of course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Required: Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist

Required: Current Ohio Department of Health Radiology license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing

• Knowledge of radiology equipment

• Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement

• Skill in properly positioning patients as well as properly identifying equipment problems

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public

• Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables

• Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices

• Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

• Excellent relationship building skills
