Job description

Nationwide Children's Hospital is currently seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist with advanced expertise in fetal diagnosis and fetal intervention to join a multidisciplinary, academically oriented fetal medicine program.

The position will focus primarily on comprehensive MFM care for patients referred for outpatient consultation related to fetal anomalies, with additional involvement in inpatient consultation, fetal procedures, and complex perinatal care.

The ideal candidate will have advanced training and demonstrated skills in fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, fetal counseling, and fetal intervention. Strong obstetric clinical judgment, excellent teaching and communication skills, and the ability to practice in an evidence-based academic environment are essential.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with an exemplary multidisciplinary team of pediatric subspecialists, neonatologists, surgeons, genetic counselors, advanced practice providers, sonographers, trainees, and other colleagues involved in the care of complex fetal conditions.

Successful candidates will have a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, will be board certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine and be eligible for a medical license in the state of Ohio. Candidates must also have a record of leadership and achievement in academic medicine and evidence of scholarly productivity.

The Fetal Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex fetal conditions. Bringing together experts in maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric subspecialties, surgery and genetics, the center provides coordinated, multidisciplinary care. Utilizing advanced imaging and diagnostics, the team delivers early, precise evaluations, while offering innovative in-utero therapies to improve outcomes. Families receive comprehensive support from prenatal counseling through postnatal care, ensuring a seamless transition to neonatal and pediatric services. The center also advances research and innovation for the treatment of fetal conditions.
