Job description

Job Summary Manage and coordinate complex projects supporting economic development initiatives, large customer growth opportunities, and data center integration activities. Serve as a key point of contact between internal business partners and external customers to ensure successful project execution, stakeholder alignment, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate project schedules, milestones, risks, and communications while supporting strategic business objectives.

  • Manage and coordinate assigned projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and status reporting.
  • Serve as a primary liaison for customers, internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.
  • Effectively communicate project status, key milestones, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead project meetings, customer discussions, and stakeholder reviews while ensuring alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify, assess, and coordinate resolution of project issues and risks.
  • Support economic development and data center customer integration efforts.
  • Represent AEP with large commercial and industrial customers, economic development organizations, consultants, and other external stakeholders as assigned.
  • Apply company project management processes and business practices to achieve project objectives.
What We're Looking For:Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Economics, Computer Science, Communications, or related field.
Work Experience
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in project management, customer project coordination, economic development, utility operations, large customer account management, infrastructure development, engineering, construction management, or related experience.
  • Qualified experience should demonstrate successful delivery of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, schedule and budget management, customer engagement, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Experience supporting utility infrastructure projects, economic development initiatives, large commercial or industrial customers, or data center customers is preferred.
Other Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze business and project information to support sound decision making.
  • Experience coordinating technical, operational, and business teams toward common objectives.
  • Ability to identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive issue resolution.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of project financials, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Understanding of utility operations, economic development processes, and customer growth initiatives is preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Travel typically 25% or less, with additional travel as business needs require.
