Job description

As a Truck Driver with Ohio Laser, you will be responsible for safely transporting fabricated metal products from our Plain City location to customers and vendor locations throughout Ohio. Ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, your duties include conducting pre/post-trip inspections of the vehicle, adherence to all traffic laws, and compliance with all regulations. You will be responsible for loading and unloading material and pulling products from the warehouses. Ensuring that product and loads are secured properly. You will interact with clients during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and always maintaining a professional attitude.

Duties:

  • Safely transporting fabricated metal products
  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Enforce safety rules, adhere to all traffic laws, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Conduct pre/post-trip inspections of vehicle
  • Load and unload materials using forklift or pallet jacks.
  • Ensure that product and loads are secured properly.
  • Understand and follow company safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand a map, directions and safety rules.
  • Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills
  • General knowledge of truck mechanics
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Oral, written and technical communication skills are necessary for this position.
  • Math, reading and mechanical aptitude.
  • Organization and time management skills


Education/Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience: 3-5 years truck driving experience and experience with a forklift. A valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.
